In other news, Olamide has spoken in defence of Yoruba culture and traditions, and his message has sparked an unexpected movement.
The singer made the remarks during his appearance at a movie premiere, where he emphasised the importance of promoting and sensitising people about the value of their cultural heritage. According to him,
"This is really just promoting the culture and trying to sensitize people that our culture and our tradition is not diabolical."

He further added,
"Our culture and our tradition is not to be demonized. And we are proud of who we are, where we are coming from and everything about our heritage, our tradition and our culture."
He concluded by saying,
"I'm a Yoruba boy; if you give me black soap, I'll gladly collect it."

Olamide's fans have reportedly started donating black soap to him every week. Sources say a fan group called "Black Soap for Baddo" was created after his speech went viral, and members have been sending bars of soap to his record label office. One fan reportedly sent 20 bars with a note that read, "Baddo, use this and thank us later."
