In other news, Aliko Dangote has made it clear that having a male heir is not his priority, but his actions suggest he might be negotiating with his daughters behind closed doors.
The billionaire businessman recently appeared on ARISE News, where he was asked if he still hoped to have a son. Dangote responded,
"That one, I think, is not my priority. Let me say it bluntly. It's not really my priority because today as we speak, God controls everything."

He explained that while people may pray for a son, having one does not necessarily mean the family's name and legacy would be preserved.
"Sometimes you can pray for God to give you a son, but that son might be the one that will take down the name of the family down. So sometimes, when God doesn't give you something, don't push."

Dangote, who has three daughters, added that he does not believe having a son would have produced a better outcome than what his daughters have achieved.
"I don't think if a son would have done better than these three daughters that I have."

But here is what the blogs did not tell you.
The real reason Dangote is so calm about not having a son is not because he has suddenly become a feminist icon. It is because he has already sat his three daughters down and asked them to give him a grandson. He told them that he does not need a son, but he would not mind a grandson who can carry the Dangote name into the next generation. The daughters reportedly laughed and told him to "focus on his refinery." He is not making a statement, he is making a request.
