The singer recently opened up about attending a UFC event in Abu Dhabi with UFC legend Kamaru Usman, recalling how fans swarmed his friend for photos and handshakes while he stood beside him unnoticed.
"Yesterday I was humbled. I was on the other side of everything I had enjoyed for a while. I went to watch a fight, a UFC fight in Abu Dhabi. I went with my guy Kamaru Usman. By the time we were stepping into the building, people were already trying to take pictures with him. I was beside him because he is my guy, we roll together."

He continued;
"As we enter sha, nobody even send my papa. Nobody send my papa. People greeted him, people shook his hands, he hugged people. He took pictures with people and all of that. And me, I just dey follow him. It just dawned on me, is this how my friend feel too with me? Nobody send my papa."
He added that the moment made him reflect on his own fame and the way his friends and team might feel when they travel with him.
"As I heard somebody shout AG baby, I was so happy. So someone that knows me is here? I say this to thank God. Everywhere I go, people notice, people know me. They want to take pictures. But for the first time yesterday, I was humbled. It was like when Drake is walking with Ronaldo. Such a full realization and just reminds me to be grateful for everything and how far I have come."

Nigerians have taken to social media to ask if Adekunle Gold was the one carrying Kamaru Usman's gym bag. Sources say the comments have been flooding his page since the interview went viral, with one fan writing, "AG baby, were you the one holding his water bottle?" Another asked, "Did you at least carry his towel?"
