Uzor Arukwe's Manager Responds to Fan Over Igbo Roles

Says He Is Planning to Switch to Yoruba and Hausa Roles Instead.

In other news, Uzor Arukwe may be preparing to leave his familiar Igbo roles behind for Yoruba and Hausa characters, and at this rate, his next audition may require a language app and a cultural orientation course.

In other news, Uzor Arukwe's manager has offered a rare glimpse into the behind-the-scenes thinking that shapes how Nollywood actors position themselves across platforms, and the internet is taking notes.

The response came after a fan expressed frustration over the actor's repeated "Igbo roles" in movies. The manager, Mr. Mautin, acknowledged the concern, saying;

"I understand why you feel this way. As his manager, I've felt the same too at some point. However, business decisions take precedence over my personal preferences, and each platform has its own demands which we have to respond to."

He explained that these roles are most common on YouTube because of the platform and audience preference.

"We adapted our strategies to the reality of Nollywood by adopting different strategies for different platforms. You won't see him playing such repetitive 'igbotic roles' in cinema projects."

But he did not stop there. Sources say Mr. Mautin has revealed that Uzor is planning to switch to Yoruba and Hausa roles instead, to diversify his portfolio and avoid being typecast. He reportedly told the fan;

"We are already looking at Yoruba and Hausa projects. Uzor will be playing a Yoruba businessman next, and after that, a Hausa farmer. We are diversifying."

Mr. Mautin has reportedly started a "Role Diversity" initiative for Uzor, which includes a list of non-Igbo roles he wants the actor to audition for. Sources say the list includes a Yoruba chief, a Hausa trader, a Chinese businessman, and a Lebanese chef. Uzor has not commented on the initiative, but his friends say he has been practising Yoruba greetings and Hausa proverbs since Monday.
