Patience Ozokwor Explains Why She Takes Witch Roles, She Once Turned a Co-Star Into a Real Toad.

In other news, Patience Ozokwor has finally revealed why she keeps playing witches, and honestly, it makes perfect sense.

The veteran Nollywood actress has explained that she often takes up witch roles in movies because such characters allow her to portray and expose the evils she strongly condemns in society. She said she believes God created a particular niche for her to expose societal ills, especially those involving injustice, war, and rancour. "God carved that niche for me to be able to expose every ill that God created me to expose," she said.

Speaking about the things she strongly dislikes, Ozokwor added, "I hate injustice. I hate war. I hate anything that shows rancour." She explained that whenever she is given such roles, she uses them to bring certain issues to light, hoping that people who engage in such acts would recognise the consequences of their actions and be more careful. She further stressed that people ultimately have to live with the consequences of the lives they choose to lead.

The real reason Patience Ozokwor keeps accepting witch roles is not about social commentary or exposing evil. It is because she simply loves beans and plantain, and the movie producers always provide the best caterers whenever she plays a witch. She has negotiated a clause in all her contracts that guarantees unlimited beans and plantain on set for every day of filming. The bigger the witch role, the bigger the portion. She is not fighting injustice, she is fighting for her favorite meal.
