Four Years, No Ring, and a Man Who Says She Is Not Ready

In other news, Mercy Eke has been doing the most. Master's degree in the UK. Multiple businesses. A Lamborghini in her garage. A body that costs millions to maintain. By every metric, this woman has her life together.                               

But try telling that to her boyfriend.

The BBNaija star sat down with Toke Makinwa on the ‘’Toke Moments’’ podcast and spilled tea that has the streets talking. Four years. Four whole years with this man. And no ring in sight.

"He keeps saying I'm not ready. I don't know what it is that I'm doing that he says I'm not ready," Mercy said, looking genuinely confused.

Mercy listed her credentials for marriage like she was applying for a job. Age? Check. Success? Check. Mental readiness? Check. Homely skills? Check. The woman even said she is willing to give up work if her husband asks her to.

"I feel I'm of age, I'm successful, and mentally I think I'm ready. I'm homely; I think I can manage a home. I'm ready for that next level," she declared.

She also revealed she wants a baby. Like, right now. Not tomorrow. Not next year. Now.

But here is what the blogs did not tell you.

Sources close to Mercy have revealed that the man in question is not just saying she is "not ready" because of some vague emotional reasons. The real issue is that Mercy's partner has seen her in full BBNaija mode, the late nights, the camera-ready persona, the constant public attention. He is worried that the woman Nigerians know as "Mercy Eke" might not fully translate to "Mrs. Somebody" without bringing the drama along.

Meanwhile, Mercy has already made it clear she does not do broke men. She recently said she is done dating anyone who earns less than her, adding that she has financially supported past boyfriends and is not interested in doing that again. So whoever this man is, he must have money. But even money cannot fix a man who keeps saying "you're not ready" for four years.

The real tea is not about lack of ring. It is that Mercy Eke, a woman who has conquered reality TV, business, and a master's degree, is now being told she is not ready by a man who probably still uses his mother's generator as backup.
