Gaise Baba Calls Out The Headies Over Faith-Based Music Snub, He's Now Planning His Own Award Show for Christians.

Gaise Baba calls out The Headies over gospel music being snubbed. But the real issue? He allegedly just realized his passport is missing ahead of the Canada ceremony. Apparently, this “fight for justice” might actually be a travel emergency.

In other news, Gaise Baba has decided to speak up for gospel artistes, but his discovery about the category might explain why it was snubbed.

The Afrogospel artiste has penned an open letter to The Headies, calling for a rethink of how faith-based music is categorised and recognised at the awards. He argued that songs should be judged on their artistry and cultural impact before the subject matter, saying a faith-based rap record should be considered alongside other rap records rather than being restricted to an "Inspirational" category.

(yimu like Lara George)

He also criticized the decision not to present the Inspirational Music award at last year's ceremony, saying every nominee deserves to have their category called on stage and recognised in full view of the audience. Gaise Baba questioned whether records like "FAVOR" and "NO TURNING BACK II" have had greater cultural impact than some of the music being celebrated in mainstream categories.

(rubs head like Davido)

"If a song that explores sexual desire and the objectification of a woman's body is celebrated for its artistic value and allowed full sway in the industry's ocean, why should the one on faith be restricted to an aquarium?" he asked.

(shakes head like Burna Boy)

But here is what the blogs did not tell you.

The real reason Gaise Baba is speaking out now is not because he is fighting for justice, it is because the 18th Headies is scheduled to hold in Toronto, Canada, on October 25, 2026, and he just discovered he doesn't have an international passport. He is currently panicking because his nomination for "No Turning Back 2" means he might have to travel abroad for the ceremony. Instead of admitting his passport situation, he is using this letter to indirectly beg the Headies organisers to help him sort it out before the event.

Edgar doesn't lie.
