The Mavin Records boss recently responded to an X user who asked, "Lol don jazzy why you dey follow all the baddie for Instagram". Without missing a beat, he replied, "Cos I be ashewo". The admission, a Nigerian slang term for someone who enjoys a vibrant and social lifestyle, sparked immediate reactions, with many praising his honesty.

Beyond the humor, however, Don Jazzy has maintained that his social media activity is far more strategic than it appears. He revealed that what is often joked about as a casual habit of following "Gen Z baddies" is actually a deliberate part of his talent discovery process. "People always say I follow plenty Gen Z baddies on IG, but that's actually how I discovered Ayra Starr," he said.
