In other news, do you remember the time when the Nigerian rapper Panshak Henry Zamani, popularly known as Ice Prince, asked this question?
"Oleku, tell me something wey I no fit do"
We are getting answers that the only thing he cannot do is be a great dad to his child. The shocking part of this story is that the information comes from his baby mama and the mother of his first child, Abi Gram.
Ah ah, how? When? Why?!
Take it easy, my dear inquisitive CheckMates. Breathe in, breathe out. Relax, grab some popcorn, and let me break it down for you.
Oya now that you're relaxed, let me give you the gist!!
It is no longer new news that Ice Prince is currently being dragged in the mud - pardon me - dragged on social media by Jamal's mother for failing to fulfil his parental duties, which she claims has led to the hospitalisation of their 12-year-old son.
Abi, who has been co-parenting with Ice Prince for 12 years now, decided enough is enough and took to Instagram to spill the tea (and trust me, it's hot!). According to her, the rapper has been dodging his duties as a father.
Now, since there's no kerosene without fire (or the other way around, I think), let me first take you to where it started.

Abi claims things went downhill after she stood as a surety for Ice Prince during his police case. Yes, she literally put herself on the line for him, but instead of gratitude, our guy reportedly abandoned her at the court, left town, and started collecting gigs while she was almost sent to Kirikiri!
In her words, "Things went sour after I stood in as surety for Panshak during his police case. He left me at the court and took a job out of state during his bail hearing, leaving me to be remanded since I had stood in for him."
But wait, if you think you're upset already, the drama only starts here. Abi goes on to accuse Ice Prince of neglecting their son emotionally, physically, financially, and in all the ‘cially’ ways possible! But before you invite ‘Shallipopi’ to it, let's look at some points she made to back that up.
First, she lamented that she had difficulties paying for the house she and Jamal lived in, and when she had asked Ice Prince to help with half of the rent, baba's response was, "If you can't provide a roof for our child, Jamal could live at my family's house in Jos."
That sounds okay, only she doesn't reside in Jos, nor does Ice Prince, and if she may add - which she did - he doesn't even take care of his immediate family, so what's the guarantee that their son will be taken care of?

By the way, we might probably have to get some receipts later from Zamani's family members so we can find out if he and Burna Boy are secretly in the same WhatsApp group. For now, let's head back to the gist.
Second, she also said she got a lawyer to draft a long-term plan for Jamal’s welfare until university, but Ice Prince, through his lawyer, responded with:
"I can't commit to anyone's welfare monthly."
When Ice Prince sang the song and added the lyrics “Better girls and better cars,” I am sure Abi didn't find out if Ice Prince added school fees. But when it comes to flexing on social media and posting a cute video with Jamal, Ice Prince is all over it. Talk about parenting in the public eye, but in private, it's a story of "That Could Be Us."
But the cherry on top of this drama cake is when Abi laments about when she found out that Jamal, who eventually developed asthma, got so sick that his hostel master had to call Ice Prince's PA to arrange a hospital visit without Abi's notice. By the time Abi arrived at the hostel, they were just getting ready to take Jamal to the hospital! Can you imagine? The kid can't even breathe properly, like Ice Prince took his breath away.

Abi didn’t stop there. She accused Ice Prince of being a “public eye dad”—always posting sweet videos of Jamal online for clout but not showing up for him in real life. Abi’s words have sparked outrage online, with many Nigerians calling out Ice Prince for failing to step up.
As one fan hilariously put it:
"Baba fit dey melt because him ice no solid again."
But wait o, is this the same Ice Prince who once sang,
"Better cars, better clothes, better houses, better girls on me…?"
Apparently, the better life ends at Instagram Live because Abi says Jamal’s clothes and school supplies haven’t seen any "better" in a while, or maybe Ice Prince is showing us his Aboki side.
Abi Gram had a lot more to reveal, and trust me when I say it might become the next Daddy Don't Go docuseries if we were to continue breaking it down. But you can find the full plot story below.
While Ice Prince has yet to respond to the accusations publicly, many Nigerians are sympathising with Abi's struggle. Not that I'm trying to take sides o, but a lot of us know co-parenting is tough, so if you're going to sign up for it, you better show up, especially when there's a 12-year-old kid involved. Imagine how Jamal must be feeling seeing his dad online with all the flashy posts, but behind the scenes, things aren't adding up. You can't be posting on social media claiming to be a superstar when you're not acting like one in all areas of your life.
While we wait to see if Ice Prince debunks or accepts the allegations filed against him by the Federal High Court of his baby mama, we, his fans, are hoping he's got a good side of the story coming up.
But then, when Ice Prince mentioned back in 2014 that he wasn't mentally ready for marriage, we didn't think he meant being a dad too. But then what do I know?
Anyway, before I came to you with this gist, I was about to call NEPA to disconnect me from Band A. Let me know whether I came to Lagos to make money from blogging or spend it on a bill that's bigger than my rent.
I'll see you in Another News!!
