In other news, King Ochacho has done more for the charcoal industry than any government policy in the last decade, and he did it with one sentence.

The billionaire businessman recently revealed during a livestream with Peller that he made his first ₦1 billion at the age of 21 through the charcoal export business. According to him, he worked as an agent for a company exporting charcoal to Chinese buyers.

"I made my first 1 billion naira at age 21 years old,"

He said.

He explained,

"I was doing a business called coal business (charcoal), so I got all these Chinese people and I was an agent to a company to export the coal. So the dividends I got within a period of time for that age was 1 billion."

He also shared that he later ventured into politics before leaving to focus on serving God and his businesses.

But here is what the blogs did not tell you.

The real reason "how to export charcoal" is now Nigeria's most-searched question is not because of Ochacho's business acumen, it is because hundreds of Nigerians have been flooding Google with the query since his interview dropped, hoping to replicate his success. What they do not know is that the charcoal export market has changed drastically since Ochacho's time, and many of them are now calling him directly to ask for his Chinese contacts. His phone has been ringing non-stop, and he has reportedly started screening calls from unknown numbers. He is not a mentor, he is a victim of his own success story.
