In other news, DJs considered banning Burna Boy's music. They have announced their decision. It did not go the way you think.
So by now, you have heard about the altercation between Burna Boy and DJ Tunez. Two men. One industry. Zero peace. The details of what happened are still being debated on Nigerian Twitter, which means nobody actually knows, but everyone has a strong opinion. Did Burna Boy actually slap him more than two times? Did 10 men beat him? Is the trending video of DJ Tunez AI or is it real? Hmmm, I guess we will never know. Before eye witness loses one eye.
What followed was extraordinary.
The Deejays Association of Nigeria — DJAN, which is a real organisation that exists, held an emergency meeting to discuss banning Burna Boy's music from all DJ playlists across Nigeria.

I want you to imagine this meeting. A room full of DJs. Serious faces. Somebody brought a projector. Somebody else brought chin-chin and puff-puff. They sat down, they deliberated, they argued, they prayed, and then one DJ stood up and played "Last Last" as a demonstration of what life without Burna Boy would sound like.
The room went silent.
Then everybody started dancing. You no go dance ke?
The meeting ended thirty minutes later with a unanimous decision to not only keep playing Burna Boy's music but to also add three more of his songs to the mandatory rotation.
DJAN has since released an official statement describing the ban discussion as "a misunderstanding" and wishing Burna Boy "long life, good health, and more albums".

DJ Tunez has not commented. Burna Boy has not commented. The DJ who played "Last Last" during the meeting has since been promoted to vice president of DJAN.
Some battles choose themselves. And some music is simply unbearable to live without.
