₦80 Million Is "Small"? Simi Sanya Said What She Said

In other news, Simi Sanya sat down for an interview and decided to remind Nigerians that poverty is a mindset. And ₦80 million? That is just pocket change for a proper wedding.

When asked about wedding budgets, she did not hesitate. "It's small oo," she said, referring to the ₦80 million someone allegedly spent on 300 guests. The interviewer was probably still processing the number while Simi was already moving to the next topic.

According to her, the cost depends on venue, decoration, catering, and personal preferences. She broke it down like a financial advisor who only deals with billionaires. If you want to host on Lagos Island, start budgeting ₦10 million and above for hall rental alone. Décor? Another ₦5 million. Catering? Pay per plate if you want to save, but she did not do that. "I wanted people to eat, be filled and be merry," she said.

Simi revealed she held her traditional wedding on Lagos Island and her white wedding on the mainland to save costs. Her advice to intending couples? Take it to Ikorodu if you want to breathe.

But the real moment came when the interviewer asked what she would have done if her husband was not willing to give her the dream wedding. Simi smiled and dropped the most loaded response: "He loves me, so he wants my dream wedding. Anything that makes me happy. "Translation: find a man who will spend millions on your wedding or keep quiet.
But here is what the blogs did not tell you.
Sources close to Simi have leaked that her wedding budget was actually closer to ₦120 million. The ₦80 million she called "small" was just the starter package. The woman had custom décor flown in from Dubai, a live band that cost more than some people's houses, and a wedding cake that required its own security detail. Meanwhile, the average Nigerian is out here planning a wedding with ₦5 million and praying the caterer does not disappear before the reception.
Her husband, who apparently loves her enough to fund a small country's GDP on one day, is probably still recovering financially. But Simi is happy. And that is all that matters.
The real tea is not about the money or the wedding. It is that Simi Sanya just told Nigerians that ₦80 million is small and the internet is currently deciding whether to be inspired or offended. Meanwhile, couples planning their weddings are looking at their budgets and questioning every life choice that led them to this moment.
Edgar doesn't lie.
