A Juju Man From Oyo State Has Claimed Responsibility For South Africa's World Cup Loss.

In other news, South Africa lost 2-0 to Mexico in the opening game of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Nigerians celebrated more than Mexicans and even went ahead to throw parties as if they had won the World Cup.
To be clear, Nigeria did not qualify for this World Cup. Nigeria is at home. Nigerians were watching from their sofas in Surulere, Owerri and Kano. And yet Nigerians were in the stadium in Mexico City wearing full Mexico jerseys, waving Mexican flags, and doing things with sombreros that sombreros were never designed for, all in the name of making sure South Africa did not enjoy themselves.
But the real gist is Chief Adeyemi Olatunde of Oyo State.

Chief Olatunde has come forward to claim full and complete responsibility for South Africa's 2-0 defeat. He is not doing this for clout. He is doing this because he has been waiting for this moment since 2019, the year South Africa deported him following what he describes as "a misunderstanding involving a customer and some missing goats".
He has not forgiven them.
"I prepared the work three days before the match,"
Chief Olatunde told our correspondent from his compound in Ibadan.
"I told their goalkeeper that his hands will be useless. Did he catch anything? He did not catch anything. Check the scoreline."
We checked the scoreline. Mexico 2, South Africa 0.
Chief Olatunde then looked directly into our correspondent's phone camera and said:
"They will not win a single match in this tournament. I have spoken. The goats send their greetings."
Nigerians on Twitter received this prophecy the way they receive all good news, with immediate and total acceptance and zero requests for evidence.
"The juju man did what our own Super Eagles could not do,"
one person wrote.
"And he did it from Ibadan. Respect."
"South Africa used xenophobia to send our people home,"
another person posted.
" Chief Olatunde used something else to send their team home. Balance has been restored."
"We were not at the World Cup but we are somehow still winning,"
someone else wrote, and this is honestly the most Nigerian sentence produced in 2026 so far.
Other Nigerians who are not waiting for any juju man to explain things have simply been enjoying the moment on their own terms.
"South Africa's goalkeeper was shaking like a NEPA transformer in the rain,"
One tweet read, with forty-five thousand likes.
"Bafana Bafana played like they were also affected by the xenophobia."
another person said.
"Even they were running from themselves."
"Mexico beat them 2-0, and I felt it in my body like it was our goal,"
Someone admitted.
"I don't even know any Mexican player's name, but tonight I am Mexican."
One Nigerian in the crowd was photographed wearing a Mexico jersey with "DEPORTED NIGERIANS FC" written on the back in marker.

That photograph has since been shared 200,000 times.
Chief Olatunde has watched all of this from Ibadan and is satisfied.
He has announced that his spiritual services are available for hire ahead of South Africa's next group stage match.
He does not work on credit.
He does not accept transfer from GTBank because of network issues.
Edgar doesn't lie.
