How to be a professional Security Guard in Nigeria

How to be a professional Security Guard in Nigeria.

Here is a masterclass every security guard in Nigeria should know. If you ever think you stand a chance of becoming a professional security guard in Nigeria, then these tips will stand by you as you stand by the gate. Do you understand?

Here are the top 4 tips on how to be a professional security guard in Nigeria.

No. 1: There is no perfect driver

To excel as a Security Guard in Nigeria, you must understand you're the alpha and omega of the security gate. Also, no one understands driving as much as you do. As far as you are concerned, there is no perfect driver except yourself.

Whether they are entering or leaving the gate, you control them. You determine how and where they park their car.

It is important to always mention the phrase “cut your hand” while directing a driver who wants to reverse or park properly. Now you might be wondering what that means. In other words, ‘‘Cut your hand’’ is a term used to direct that clueless driver who was only unfortunate to have a car before you but is completely new to driving. Either they cut their hand to the left or the right; you decide.

It is not like you can't afford your own car, but if everyone drives, who controls and directs them when a problem arises?

In conclusion, you are only making a sacrifice that most people can't make. Any driver who hears you say “cut your hand” can tell you're perfect and a professional. Moreover, it is also important to note that you must frown while doing this.

A smile would make you seem weak. In other words, there is nothing to laugh about if you want to be a professional gateman. Above all, you are angry 99.9% of the time. "Oga, cut your hand.".

No. 2 Be hard to find

As a professional gateman, make sure you're hard to find. Spend more time making friends or gisting with other gatemen and street friends. Better still, you can be looking for a pretty lady to always disturb on your street.

If you always open the gate at the first horn, your boss will take advantage of it and give you more work to do.

Consequently, don't be surprised if you start washing his car and taking his children to school. To avoid stories that touch, spend little or no time at the gate. Additionally, if you have a phone, leave it at home when you go out.

No one must predict your next move. Furthermore, avoid see finish. The reward of hard work is more work; remember that.

No. 3 Keep the gist for your Boss

How can you say you're a professional gateman and cannot gossip? Primarily, you must be a skilled storyteller. You know everything and everyone in your area. You must also be able to narrate all that has happened to your boss, whether it is of interest to him/her or not.

For example, you know those who haven't paid their rent and those who fought with their landlord. You also know why your neighbor's wife doesn't come home every night. You are the insider who works outside.

Additionally, a well-rounded skill set should include an abusive mouth, dry jokes, and dirty or torn uniforms. In the same vein, these are marks of professionalism.

No.4 Anything for the boys?

After directing a car driver to park or reverse, it is your right to get something from the driver. It doesn't matter how small. This is the only time you can smile or look happy. There are steps to take before asking the most important question.

Firstly, no matter the driver's car, the car looks amazing. So start by praising the car and the driver. For instance, "Oga, you too much, this your car too fine, see engine na, moving machine.”.

Consequently, this would make the driver relax and ready for step two.

Once you get his attention, raise your hands in the air like a goalkeeper or salute him like a police officer. You can now proceed with step three.

Lastly, ask him the most important question: “IDAN anything for the boys?” This is the last test before you become a certified professional. If he gives you money, pray for him. In fact, tell him that his car would never somersault and that potholes would not swallow it. Trust me, it's possible in Nigeria.

However, if he doesn't give you money or acts like he is listening, take a good look at his face. This is for when next you have the opportunity to direct his car. Make sure that, you tell him to cut his hand into the wall. He is not serious. Nonsense!
