The $4 million that never left Bella shmurda's pocket

In other news, Bloggers in 2026 dusted off a 2023 video of Bella Shmurda, added a "BREAKING" sticker, and convinced everyone he lost $4M in a fake property scam. Fans practically started a GoFundMe before Bella woke up, laughed, and reminded everyone that believing bloggers is a severe health hazard

In other news, the internet's favourite pastime is back, believing everything with a screenshot and a prayer.

Bloggers went into overdrive with news that Bella Shmurda had been scammed of $4 million in a Lagos property deal. The story claimed he broke down on Instagram Live, begging Nigerians for help after a property agent vanished into thin air with his money.

(yimu like Aki and Paw Paw)

Fans were already typing their condolences. The pity party was in full swing. Someone was probably drafting a GoFundMe link as we speak.

Bella Shmurda woke up, saw the chaos, and said, "Abeg, rest." He hopped on his Insta Stories with the driest response known to man: "Fake news!! I wasn't scammed. Trust bloggers @ ur own Risk. Doing fine and happy. Peace & ♥️" . He followed up with another one: "4m$ keh?? This country no go sleep !!". (Laughs like Sam Loco after watching someone take a very wrong turn)

But here is what the blogs did not tell you.

That viral video bloggers are circulating? It is from 2023. Yes, 2023. The one he recorded shortly after Mohbad's passing. Some random content farmer found old footage, added a "BREAKING" sticker, and ran with it like it was fresh news. The property agent who allegedly disappeared? He never existed. The $4 million? The only people in Nigeria sitting on that kind of money are either in Aso Rock or selling dollars under the table.

(shines teeth like Seyi vibez)

So the question is, are we still out here believing everything we scroll past? In 2026? With our full chests?

The real tragedy is not the scam. It is that Nigerians will believe anything with a dramatic caption and a blurry screenshot. Which, technically, happens every week.

(shakes head painfully like Rita Edochie)

Edgar doesn't lie.

Sources: Bella Shmurda’s sister, Caroline Adegbite who is a camera shy person.
