In other news, Tayo Faniran has officially declared that Nollywood is rigged, and Nigerians have responded with a suggestion he did not ask for.
According to him, talent alone does not determine how far people go in Nollywood.
"When you talk about the politics of our country, like government and all of that, and what we are complaining about today as citizens, in Nollywood we're facing times ten of that."
He said.

He further suggested that his career would have progressed much further if Nollywood operated strictly on talent.
"Someone like me, if Nollywood were to be strictly about talent, I should be far beyond where I am now."
Faniran stated.
He also alleged that there is widespread rigging within the industry, arguing that some of the biggest names are not necessarily the most talented.
"Another thing is that there's a lot of rigging going on. In the industry right now, the film producers that you guys see and you know as the biggest are not the most talented film producers. Same with director, same with actor. Awards are rigged too."
He said.

Nigerians have taken to social media to suggest that Tayo Faniran should try Big Brother Naija again. He was a housemate in the 2015 season, finishing as the first runner-up, and fans believe another stint in the house could revive his career better than calling out Nollywood. One comment read, "Uncle, just go back to BBNaija. They will give you a brand new car and you can use it to drive to auditions." Tayo has not responded to the suggestions.
