In other news, Jide Kosoko has shared a financial testimony that is equal parts painful and relatable, and his landlord has entered the chat.
According to him, producing and releasing the film cost more than ₦300 million, stressing that the money was provided by investors who expected to make returns from the project.

When the interviewer expressed surprise at the huge amount, Kosoko explained that the investors were not simply giving him money but had entered into a business arrangement with him.
"They did business, and we took the film to the cinema. Different things happened."
He said.
Asked what went wrong, the veteran actor revealed that the movie failed to generate enough revenue to cover their investment, while the little money they made was shared among those involved.
"We didn't earn our money, and the little we earned was split."
He lamented.

Kosoko went on to humorously describe his financial predicament, singing about how he could be seen dancing despite being in debt.
"As I am, if you hear someone with debt dancing, it's me."
He sang, before clarifying that the situation was not exactly about owing money. According to him, the people who worked on the production had been paid for their services, but the project failed to deliver the financial breakthrough they had hoped for. He added that the experience had continued to weigh on his mind, suggesting that the outcome was something he thought about frequently. When the interviewer pressed him on what happened to the cinema earnings and who was responsible for the distribution, Kosoko acknowledged the significant investments made by cinema operators.
"I won't deceive anyone, but truly, those who own the cinemas have huge investments."
He said.
Jide Kosoko's landlord has reportedly asked him to release the movie on YouTube so he can collect his rent. Sources say the landlord sent him a message that read, "Oga Jide, put the film on YouTube. Let people watch it for free. Maybe the ads will pay your rent." Kosoko has not responded to the message, but his friends say he has been thinking about it. He is not just in debt, he is now taking advice from his landlord.
