In other news, Fireboy DML has shared a story that is equal parts hilarious and relatable, and Nigerian families are everywhere nodding.
The singer recently resurfaced a clip from his interview on the 90s Baby Show, where he recalled how a rumour about him buying a private jet reached his mother. According to him, he had posted a picture of the jet he was about to fly, and the rumour mill took it from there.
(claps hands like Olamide)
"I was at the airport and I posted a picture of the jet that I was going to fly. This rumor just started going around that, oh, Fireboy has bought a private jet. My mom now called me, 'Damola, congratulations o, you didn't even tell me.' I knew it was bait, because why would she say congratulations? I'm like, so you saw that kind of thing and you believed it? I will go and use my money to buy private jet? When you are still in Abeokuta."
He said.
(laughing heavily like Carter Efe)
He added;
"It's crazy. Do people know how much it costs to maintain a private jet? The maintenance is mad. I didn't grow up rich o."
Fireboy DML's family WhatsApp group has suddenly become active again. Sources say the group, which had been quiet for months, has been flooded with messages from relatives asking about the jet, congratulating him, and suggesting he "remember the family." One cousin reportedly sent a photo of a house in Lekki with the caption, "This is what we should be looking at next." Fireboy has not responded to the messages, but his friends say he has been laughing at the group chat.
