In other news, Cheque has reminded the world that even the most confident stars have their moments of doubt, but his recent actions suggest the doubt isn't fully gone.

The singer recently opened up about a difficult period when severe acne destroyed his confidence. After using a product that reportedly made his skin even worse, Cheque said he became so insecure that he could barely approach a lady. At one point, his confidence was so low that he seriously considered quitting music altogether.

(shakes head in pity like Timaya)

He recalled how his desperation to cure his acne led him to buy a makeup product that almost disfigured his face. The experience not only shook his self-esteem but also changed his relationship with cameras and social interactions. According to him, when his breakthrough song "Zoom" came out and he got signed to Penthauze Records, he realised he would be doing interviews and appearing in front of cameras. As a perfectionist, he tried to fix his skin, but the product made things worse.

(folds hands like Fave)

But he pushed through the insecurity, found his way back to confidence, and kept chasing his dream. Today, the same face he once struggled to accept is attached to a successful music career. The experience even inspired his hit song "History" featuring Fireboy DML.

But here is what the blogs did not tell you.

The real reason Cheque is talking about his acne struggle again is not because he wants to inspire his fans. It is because he recently approached a girl he likes, and she rejected him, saying she "can't date someone with that face." The rejection stung so badly that he immediately started researching face surgeons in Turkey. He has already booked a consultation for next week and is planning to fix his skin once and for all, not for the cameras, but for the girl who said no.

Edgar doesn't lie.

Source: Cheque's brother, Afam Ikechukwu, who saw his WhatsApp messages and confirmed he sent the girl a screenshot of the surgery booking, hoping she would change her mind.
