In other news, Barry Jhay has announced that he is done with fame, and Nigerians have responded with a question that cuts deeper than any interview ever could.

The singer recently spoke with Akin Abalade about his journey, his late father, fame, wealth, fatherhood, and the controversy that once rocked his life. According to him, if given another chance at life, he would choose wealth over fame.

"My next life, I don't even want no talent. I just want to be, I don't want to be popular, I just want to be rich. Like bro, I just want to be thinking rich. Fame is very dangerous. It's a drug to get in your head and take over, man. So just be careful how you handle it. I'm not your father"

He said.

Barry described growing up as a musician's son as a "sweet-bitter feeling," noting that losing his father changed his life. When asked if he considered himself a Nepo or Lappo baby, he said:

"I'm a straight Nepo, but my reality is Lappo, man. The Nepo side is gone, though. I'm trying to get it back, but Lappo, the Lappo is in me."

He revealed that he can also draw and paint and promised to showcase his artistic skills if fans demanded it. Speaking about his dreams, he said,

"My dream is too big that it scares me, bro. If your dream doesn't scare you, then your dream is not big enough."

He added that he hopes to invest in mental-health awareness because people don't really talk about it. Barry also revealed that he has a three-year-old son and wants to build a better future for his children.

Barry Jhay says he doesn't want to be famous anymore, but sources say he has been checking his Instagram notifications every morning before brushing his teeth. He has also been quietly working on a new album and has already booked studio time for next month. He is not giving up fame, he is just tired of the parts of it that come with stress.
