In other news, Ayo Animashaun has officially addressed the complaints about The Headies, and he did not come to play.

He also defended the award show's decisions, saying its beneficiaries, participating artistes, and sponsors understand its vision, even when others disagree.

He further stated that the award body is not perfect, but it remains committed to recognising excellence in the industry.

Ayo Animashaun has reportedly already removed the names of several artistes from the nomination list. Sources say he has a spreadsheet tracking which artistes submit to international awards but skip The Headies, and he has been updating it for three years. He has not shared the list publicly, but he has reportedly removed at least five names from this year's nominations. The affected artistes have not commented, but their teams have been calling The Headies office since Monday.
